Making e-liquid, or more commonly known as DIY, is a method that many vapers use, in order to prepare e-liquids to be able to taste several tastes, at a lower cost. The DIY allows to have e-liquids in larger quantities. Like cooking, DIY allows everyone to try new tastes and make new recipes.
How does DIY work?
The e-liquid is composed of propylene glycol (PG), vegetable glycerin (VG), aroma and nicotine (according to the needs of the vaper). The DIY principle is to have these different elements separately and prepare one's e-liquid. From now on, it is possible to buy the already mixed PG / VG base. All that remains is to add aroma and nicotine. Since the application of European law, it is no longer possible to have bottles of more than 10ml with nicotine. As a result, nicotine boosters are now available. Nicotine boosters are e-liquids composed of PG, VG and 20mg of nicotine. These nicotine boosters do not have aromas. It is possible to add additives, such as freshness, ... These additives are added in addition, to bring a more in the tastes.
The process is as follows:
We first put the base, add the nicotine, complete the aroma and finish with the additives if you want to add additives.
How to dose your nicotine?
1.5mg: 7.5% nicotine and 92.5% base.
3mg: 15% nicotine and 85% base.
6mg: 30% nicotine and 70% base
9mg: 45% nicotine and 55% base
12mg: 60% nicotine and 40% base
16mg: 80% nicotine and 20% base
18mg: 90% nicotine and 20% base
For example :
If you want a 100ml base in 6mg of nicotine, just put 30ml of nicotine Booster and 70ml of PG / VG base without nicotine. You will have a base of 100ml to 6mg of nicotine. Once your base is ready, you can add your aroma.
How to dose the aroma?
The dosage of the aroma will depend on the brand and your tastes. As a general rule, you must put between 8% and 15% of flavors in your base. Some flavors need a higher dose than others. The information is available on the aroma label.
When you have prepared your e-liquid, some aromas need to be rested for a while. More commonly called "Step", this step is very important for your e-liquid to be perfect.
