The history of vaping Part lll. Where vaping gets it’s big break.

In the last part of our story we talked about the first attempts to build portable dried herb vaporizers.

There had been numerous attempts, but none of these really captured the public’s interest.

In 1993, Eagle Bill, an American inventor living in Amsterdam, came up with the Shake & Vape. This could have been just another home build, but the timing was perfect. At the 7th Amsterdam Cannabis Cup in 1994, the Shake & Vape was introduced. The competition where growers and consumers come together to decide on the best strain was the best place to introduce this new way of enjoying cannabis. 

Vaping finally got it's big break.

Eagle Bill's design was pretty basic. Just a glass tube with a ball at the end where the herbs were heated with a flame. 

The crowd at the competition loved it.

Since that day in 1994 a lot has changed. Other brands entered the market, some of them are still around today. Vaporizers got better and more powerful, and even now are not yet done evolving.
