Vaporizers, how do they work?

But how do they work? In earlier blog posts we talked about the chemistry of vaporizing dried herbs and what the best temperature settings are. Today we talk about the devices themselves and how they produce those sweet vapors.

We know already that vaporizers are a perfect alternative to smoking. Using a vaporizer is a great way to enjoy your favorite herbs without the toxicity that comes with smoking. 

Now how do they work exactly? Most modern vaporizers do not use a flame as a heat source, the heat is produced by an electrical charge supplied by a battery. No flame means that nothing is being burned. And nothing being burned means we don't inhale harmful byproducts like tar.

Instead of burning the herbs are vaporized. They are heated up until the moisture in the herbs turns into vapor. And this vapor is what we inhale.

Besides the lower toxicity, vaporizing offers other benefits over smoking. When we smoke, half of the beneficial compounds are burned. They literally go up in flames, such a waste…

Vaporizing makes it easier to enjoy the full flavor of our herbs. And not only flavor, all the effects are greatly enhanced as well.
